- Tea with a Pony

- Quiet Corners

- Equine-facilitated learning

What is Tea With a Pony?

Tea With a Pony is a gentle, one‑hour enrichment activity designed for older adults, people living with dementia, and/or individuals with physical or learning disabilities. The session offers relaxed, low‑pressure interaction with our horses in a calm, fully accessible environment.

Participants can enjoy:

• A raised seating area with clear views of the horses

• Warm drinks, refreshments, and optional craft activities

• A friendly, social atmosphere with our trained staff and volunteers

• The opportunity (for those who wish) to safely stroke the horses behind a barrier

After meeting the horses, groups are welcome to finish their teas or enjoy a packed lunch.

How to book

Please book via the 'events' page on our website. We would also be very happy to further discuss your group’s needs or arrange a visit so you can meet our team and ponies before booking.

Quiet Corners is a 30-minute session of relaxed, one-to-one interaction with a horse or pony in a fully accessible, low-pressure environment, supported by a member of our RDA team. Each session is tailored to individual needs and interests, allowing participants to take things at their own pace.
Participants might enjoy:
  • Stroking or quietly spending time with a designated Quiet Corner pony
  • Grooming or learning how to groom
  • Simply sharing space and being present with the horse or pony
  • Enjoying a friendly, calm environment with support from a trained member of staff
  • Optional learning-based activities, such as exploring tack, yard duties or stable management
There is no pressure to take part in any particular activity. Sessions can be adapted around what each individual feels comfortable with and would most enjoy.
